Alexandra Daddario (“The Squid and the Whale,” “The Hottest State”) has landed the lead female role in Fox 2000’s “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief” says The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on the first book in Rick Riordan’s Greek mythology-toned quintology, the story involves Poseidon’s half-human son, Percy (Logan Lerman), who’s on a quest across modern America to prevent a war among the gods.
Daddario plays Athena’s 18-year-old daughter, Annabeth, a warrior at Camp Half-Blood with Percy and potential romantic foil.
Brandon T. Jackson also stars. Chris Columbus directs and co-adapted the screenplay with Craig Titley. Shooting kicks off in Vancouver in April.
