The CW has announced plans to change up their release strategy for both “Supergirl” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” for the rest of their third season runs with the plan to stagger the shows in the same timeslot.
“Supergirl” will return in its regular Monday 8pm timeslot on January 15th and run for four weeks until February 5th. Then “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” takes over the timeslot from February 12th and will air all of its nine remaining episodes for the season through April 9th. Then, “Supergirl” will return April 16th and air its remaining nine episodes through to June 11th.
That gives fans 23 consecutive weeks of original episodes in the timeslot and gives the network room for the five series it plans to premiere midseason, including new series “Black Lightning” and “Life Sentence” along with the return of “The 100,” “iZombie” and “The Originals”.
The other DC shows “Arrow” and “The Flash” are reportedly unaffected by the change.
