“Piranha 3D” and “Crawlspace” scribe Josh Stolberg has come onboard “Weaveworld,” the TV series adaptation of the acclaimed 1987 dark fantasy novel by Clive Barker.
The CW first took a stab at a series last season with Angela Mancuso executive producing through CBS Studios and Jack Kenny writing. The script did not go to pilot, but the network remained high on the title and put it into redevelopment.
In the new take, two ordinary people find themselves on a quest to find and protect a magical realm and ultimately to save all of humanity from an evil force. The project has long been considered too hard to adapt for TV due to its scope, scale and extensive use of special effects to create its world.
