“Colony” executive producers Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal are teaming to rewrite the upcoming film adaptation of the classic arcade game “Rampage” at New Line.
The “San Andreas” writers will be re-teaming with that film’s director Brad Peyton and actor Dwayne Johnson on the project which had a previous draft penned by Ryan Engle.
In the game, players were tasked with stopping giant building-destroying versions of a gorilla, a lizard and a wolf as they wreak havoc across America. Johnson, Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn and John Rickard will produce and shooting begins late Summer or early Fall.
The news comes as Johnson confirmed his upcoming schedule on Instagram – he’ll spend the next four weeks shooting “Ballers: Season 2,” segue into the “Baywatch” film for 12 weeks, then shoot “Fast 8” for 12-14 weeks, then spend some time with African anti-poaching units before jumping into shooting “Rampage”.
Johnson recently ran through his production schedule on Instagram and said production is likely to start at the end of summer depending on how “Baywatch”and “Furious 8″schedules pan out. He is currently shooting the second season of “Ballers”for HBO.
