After hitting success with “Despicable Me” this Summer, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures are re-teaming on a CG animated feature based on the classic children’s book series “Curious George” reports The L.A. Times.
The original seven book series follows a mischievous monkey who has become one of the most recognizable and beloved children’s book characters. Universal previously adapted the property into a modestly successful animated film in 2006.
Larry Stuckey (“Little Fockers”) is penning the script and Chris Meledandri will produce. The film joins two other book adaptations in the works at Illumination including “The Lorax” and “Where’s Waldo”.
