George Eads (“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”) is returning to CBS with the news today that he’s set to co-star in the “MacGyver” re-imagining currently in the works.
The story follows a twenty-something MacGyver as he gets recruited into a clandestine organization where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening.
Eads, the first person cast in the pilot, will take on the role of a compassionate and eccentric conspiracy theorist and government employee named Lincoln.
David Von Ancken (“Hell on Wheels,” “Code Black”) will take over from James Wan as director of the pilot. Wan had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict with post-production on “The Conjuring 2”. Wan will remain an executive producer, while Paul Downs Colaizzo will pen the script.
