Cruise Set For Liman’s “We Mortals Are”?

He was linked two months ago, now Tom Cruise is reportedly committing to Doug Liman’s sci-fi war film “We Are Mortals” at Warner Bros. Pictures reports Deadline.

Based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s 2004 novel “All You Need is Kill”, the story follows a new recruit sent out to fight off an alien invasion and finding himself in a Groundhog Day-esque scenario of dying on the battlefield and being reborn each day.

Five months into this cycle though, he notices something different than the previous versions – a female soldier who may be the key to his escape. Dante Harper adapted the script which Joby Harold has re-written.

Scheduling issues are still being worked out. Cruise, who is currently shooting Christopher McQuarrie’s “One Shot”, will likely film the project after he stars in Joseph Kosinski’s scorched earth sci-fi epic “Oblivion” for Sidney.
