Production is still underway on the sixth film in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise with director Christopher McQuarrie teasing some of the filming on social media.
Months ago, producer David Ellison confirmed that the project would include an insane stunt set piece that plans to top some of the more famous ones from the series such as the climbing of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa in ‘Ghost Protocol’ and the hanging off the side of a plane in flight in ‘Rogue Nation’.
This week the film’s shoot has gone to New Zealand where McQuarrie confirms they’re finally filming the big piece for the sixth film. Posting some teasing photos on his social media pages, the sequence certainly involves helicopters and will take place around a picturesque mountain lake. Beyond that, who knows.
Rebecca Ferguson, Henry Cavill, Vanessa Kirby, Simon Pegg, Michelle Monaghan, Sean Harris, Ving Rhames, Alec Baldwin, Sian Brooke, and Angela Bassett also star in the film which opens July 27th next year.
