Cronenberg Helming “Consumed” Netflix Series

Cronenberg Helming Consumed Netflix Series

Five years after famed cult filmmaker David Cronenberg helmed his last film with 2014’s “Maps to the Stars,” the Canadian director is back and this time he’s coming to Netflix.

World of Reel (via The Playlist) reports that Cronenberg recently appeared at the Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal and confirmed he’s currently in pre-production on a brand-new TV series for Netflix.

Said show will be an adaptation of Cronenberg’s own 2014 novel “Consumed” which follows two journalists that embark on a quest around the world to find out what happened in the mysterious death of a French philosopher.

Cronenberg has been outspoken recently about the creativity that comes with streaming services, so the shift to Netflix isn’t a big surprise for the “A History of Violence” and “Eastern Promises” helmer.
