“Crime,” “Secrets,” “Ken” Axed, “Black-ish” Renewed

And the axe keeps swinging at ABC.

John Ridley’s acclaimed anthology drama “American Crime” has been cancelled after three seasons. The most recent season averaged just a 0.7 rating in Live+7 results. ABC tried to figure way to do a shortened six-episode fourth season but that didn’t work out.

That’s not the only one. Crime thriller “Secrets & Lies,” Shondaland drama “The Catch” and comedy “Dr. Ken” have all been cancelled after two seasons each. These shows started out of the gate better than expected, and then lost big audience numbers in their second seasons.

Reality TV however has survived though with “The Bachelor,” “Dancing With the Stars” and “Shark Tank” all scoring additional seasons, as has the comedy “Black-ish”.
