Cranston, Hart Join “Intouchables” Remake

Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart are in talks to star in the remake of 2011 French hit “The Intouchables” which has Simon Curtis attached to direct.

Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano helmed the original which grossed a whopping $416 million overseas and followed a French aristocrat (Francois Cluzet) who, after becoming a paraplegic following a paragliding accident, hires a Senegalese immigrant and petty criminal from the projects to be his caregiver.

The Weinstein Co. acquired the remake rights shortly after release and have set “Bridesmaids” and “Spy” helmer Paul Feig to pen the script. Shooting is expected to start this summer.
