Singer-actress Courtney Love has been tapped to star in a telemovie about the infamous Lyle and Erik Menendez brothers for Lifetime.
Abdi Nazemian (“The Quiet”) penned and reality TV producers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”) will direct the currently untitled project based on the true story which explores the lives and motivations behind the murders of Jose Menendez and his wife Kitty (to be played by Love) in 1989.
The film will reveal “the extreme abuse the brothers endured at their father’s hands, while their mother looked the other way”. The subsequent trial of the two mean became a national sensation. Casting for Erik and Lyle is under way with production to begin in February in Vancouver.
