Australian actor Jai Courtney (“A Good Day To Die Hard,” “Divergent”) is said to be in talks for a major role, possibly that of Deadshot, in David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad” movie at Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics.
The comic title deals with incarcerated villains from the DC universe being recruited as deniable assets by the Government to go on high-risk black ops missions in exchange for more lenient or even commuted sentences.
The likes of Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are all said to be in various stages of discussions to potentially join the project which Charles Roven is producing.
Courtney is tipped to play Floyd Lawton, aka. the assassin Deadshot. Leto is being courted for Batman villain The Joker, Robbie for The Joker’s insane sidekick Harley Quinn, Hardy for team leader Rick Flag, and Smith as Digger Harkness a.k.a. Captain Boomerang. Jesse Eisenberg is already rumored to be reprising his Lex Luthor role in the film.
“Suicide Squad” is currently targeting a summer 2016 release.
