Could Wasp Join Marvel Phase 3 Line-Up?

The first of the two end credits stingers in the just released “Ant-Man” movie from Marvel Studios sees the birth – or rather re-birth – of The Wasp, a famed Marvel superhero.

Whilst we glimpsed the original Janet Van Dyne version of the character in a flashback during “Ant-Man,” the film sees Janet’s daughter Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) getting her own costume and inheriting the mantle of the size-changing winged super heroine.

Speaking about that scene with Yahoo, Marvel Studios’ president of production Kevin Feige was asked whether we’ll see her on screen again. From the sounds of it, her first time out in the costume will be a key part of one of the upcoming films:

“It’s going to be certainly a part of our Phase 3; some of the films we’ve announced in Phase 3. It is going to be a very important moment [in Ant-Man], and – spoiler alert! – we see that suit for the first time, and her father now is finally giving it to her and realizes that he can’t hold her back from what is essentially her destiny. It’s gonna be a very big part of one of our upcoming films.”

We know Paul Rudd is reprising his “Ant-Man” Scott Lang role in “Captain America: Civil War,” the best bet right now for a glimpse of Lilly in the Wasp costume would seem to be the “Avengers: Infinity War” saga.
