The end of the second season of The CW’s “The Flash” not only had an interesting setup for the ‘Flashpoint’ storyline, it also saw the season’s big bad Zoom taken away by Time Wraiths after seemingly transforming into what appeared to be Black Flash.
In the comics, the character appears as an omen of death to those connected to the Speed Force. Could Black Flash be on the way as a future villain and would actor Teddy Sears return to the role? Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW:
“Obviously we did that [the Black Flash change] on purpose. We love working with Teddy. He’s such an amazing actor and amazing person, and was so much a part of the success of this show last season… I’m sure we’ll be seeing him in the future.”
In related news, ComicBook.com reports that Joey King (“The Conjuring,” “Independence Day: Resurgence”) has joined the cast of the third season as the villain Magenta. It’s unclear if she’ll be a recurring character in future versions.
“The Flash” returns on October 4th.
