Anton Corbijn (“The American”) is set to direct “Life,” a film about the real life friendship between actor James Dean and Life Magazine photographer Dennis Stock.
Set before Dean’s breakout role in “East of Eden,” Stock was a young photographer who received an assignment to shoot a free-spirited unknown actor named James Dean.
The pair went on a cross-country journey during which Stock captured now-iconic images of the actor. Luke Davies penned the script.
Iain Canning (“Shame,” “The King’s Speech””) and Emile Sherman will produce the $10-15 million project, and shooting begins early next year.
