With the Television Critics Association press tour underway, several networks and streaming services have been releasing new promo trailers for their upcoming shows and seasons.
Netflix has premiered the first official trailer for cop comedy series “The Good Cop” starring Tony Danza and Josh Groban as a father and son duo with mismatched personalities who are forced to team up in order to solve cases. That series premieres September 21st.
Amazon has released the first trailer for “The Romanoffs,” the upcoming anthology series from “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner who penned and directed the eight-episode run. The series follows people who believe themselves to be descendants of the murdered Russian royal family that ruled until 1917.
Aaron Eckhart, Diane Lane, Isabelle Huppert, Jack Huston, Christina Hendricks, Corey Stoll, Noah Wyle, Amanda Peet and many more star in the show, but the trailer forgoes showing any footage. The series premieres October 12th on Amazon Prime Video.
TNT has set a September 9th premiere date for the fifth and final season of its epic drama series “The Last Ship”. The series chronicles the aftermath of a global catastrophe that nearly decimated the world’s population and stars Eric Dane, Bridget Regan and Adam Baldwin. In the new season, the world is finally recovering from the deadly virus, but global political unrest remains.
AT&T Audience Network has released the trailer for the second season of its Stephen King adaptation “Mr. Mercedes” which returns to screens from August 22nd. Jack Huston, Tessa Ferrer and Maximiliano Hernandez join the cast of the second season.
The series picks up a year after Brady Hartsfield’s (Harry Treadaway) thwarted mass murder attempt, he’s now hospitalized in a vegetative state. Retired Detective Bill Hodges (Brendan Gleeson) has teamed up with Holly Gibney (Justine Lupe) to open a private investigative agency. When unexplainable occurrences begin to affect hospital staff members attending to Brady, Hodges is haunted by the feeling that Brady is somehow responsible.
Showtime has released the official trailer for the upcoming ninth season of its hit family dramedy series “Shameless”. A political fervour will hit the South Side and the Gallaghers are taking justice into their own hands. The new season returns September 9th.
Finally, MTV has released the first trailer for its new reality series “Lohan Beach Club”. Actress Lindsay Lohan shows off the ‘docuseries’ which began filming this week and follows Lohan as she expands her business empire with Lohan Beach House, a seaside destination equipped with a luxury spa, restaurant, and day/nightclub. Leading a team of handpicked brand ambassadors, she plans to “make her mark on the vacation capital of the world.” The show will air in 2019.
