Cooper, Sy To Play “Chef” For Ciafrance?

Bradley Cooper (“Silver Linings Playbook”) and Omar Sy (“The Intouchables”) are in discussions to star in the culinary comedy “Chef” at The Weinstein Company.

Cooper would star as a disgraced chef who, after losing his Michelin-rated restaurant in Paris, decides to bring his crew together in an attempt to create the best restaurant ever in London.

Cooper previously played a chef making a career comeback in Fox’s sitcom “Kitchen Confidential.”

Derek Cianfrance (“The Place Beyond the Pines,” “Blue Valentine”) is set to direct from a script by “Eastern Promises” scribe Steven Knight.

This would mark Sy’s first role in an English-language film.
