Matt Greenhalgh, the scribe behind the biopic “Control” about Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis, is working on another one – this time about John Lennon.
Greenhalgh tells Digital Spy that “The film is called Lennon and details John’s adolescent years, pre-Beatlemania”, a surprising decision considering most work about Lennon has dealt with his Beatles and post-Beatles life.
How’d he get the gig? “It came to me off the back of Control – the producers of Lennon saw Control and then asked me if I’d consider doing their script for them. It wasn’t a particularly hard decision for me to say yes.”
“Control” meanwhile continues to receive huge praise and awards at film festivals.
