“Conjuring” Spin-Off “Crooked Man” Gets Scribe

Mike Van Waes has been hired to pen the script for the fourth spin-off feature from James Wan’s “The Conjuring” franchise at New Line.

Van Waes will pen “Crooked Man,” an origin story of the tall, slender character who based on the English nursery rhyme who first appeared in “The Conjuring 2”. Wan will create the story.

This follows on from the previous films, “Annabelle” and its sequel and “The Nun” which were all based on similar spooks in the two previous “The Conjuring” movies.

Wan and Peter Safran are producing. The project isn’t to be confused with the horror film “The Crooked Man” which was released earlier this year.
