“Straight Outta Compton” star O’Shea Jackson Jr. is in negotiations to join Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler and Vera Farmiga in “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” at Legendary.
“Krampus” helmer Michael Dougherty is directing the project from a script he penned with Zach Shields. Ken Watanabe is the only original cast member likely to return for the second installment which follows on from the 2014 reboot and this month’s “Kong: Skull Island” which has pulled in $392 million at the worldwide box office so far.
Jackson garnered rave reviews after portraying his father, Ice Cube, in the N.W.A biopic. He’s also scored good notices for his work in Sundance entry “Ingrid Goes West” and he’s currently shooting “Den of Thieves” for STX.
“Godzilla: King of Monsters” opens March 22nd 2019.
