Common is in advanced negotiations and James Badge Dale has closed a deal to join Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss in the film adaptation of the Vertigo comics title “The Kitchen” at New Line Cinema.
Set in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen during the 1970s, the story follows wives of Irish mobsters (McCarthy, Haddish and Moss) who team up to take over running the business after their husbands are sent to prison.
Common is in talks for the role of FBI agent Gary Silvers, while Dale will play Haddish’s mob boss husband. Jeremy Bobb and Myk Watford are also onboard as Moss’ husband and one of the male boss’ lackeys respectively.
Andrea Berloff penned and directs the film which also stars Domhnall Gleeson, Margo Martindale, Bill Camp and Brian d’Arcy. Filming kicks off next month in New York City ahead of a September 20th 2019 release.
