Comic-Con Studio Panels Sneak Peek

Its nearly that time again with over 125,000 people filling San Diego’s massive 49 sq. km convention center to capacity for the annual pop culture event that has become Comic Con.

As usual the movie studios and a roster of celebs will be there in force for some big presentations of their upcoming genre product.

I’ll be attending for my eighth year in a row and will be on stage as part of a one-hour panel with fellow webmasters on Thursday at 10am. Joining me will be reps from IESB.net, CHUD, Latino Review, Ain’t It Cool News, Movie Web, The Movie Blog, JoBlo, Cinematical & Bloody-Disgusting.

Action film directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (“Crank,” “Pathology”) will moderate the panel where they will exclusively show off first footage from “Crank 2” and the Gerard Butler-led “The Game” so be sure to attend (it’s early admittedly, but it’s at a time that shouldn’t conflict with other movie panels).

Also if you can find a way, grab a ticket (they’re already booked out from what I understand) to the Masters of the Web party on Saturday night which is already looking to be one of the big event parties to attend this year.

The studios have big plans this year with eight different presentations taking place. More details will be on hand when the official guide comes out, but for now IESB.Net has assembled this excellent rundown of what’s looking likely to be screened at the four-day con which runs from July 23rd-27th 2008. Be sure to check their site for more about the webmaster panel and party in coming days:
