A week after the cancellation of Iron Fist, it was announced that “Luke Cage” had met the same fate. Those involved have all effectively commented on the end bar one key player – the titular star himself actor Mike Colter.
Now Colter has finally taken to Instagram to thank fans and respond to the news. Most interesting is that those fans holding out hope for a “Heroes for Hire” series either on Netflix or Disney’s streaming service may be out of luck as Colter’s tone suggests the actor is permanently saying goodbye to Luke Cage.
Colter is in high demand these days thanks to the Marvel-Netflix series and his work on “The Good Wife”. The actor has several films on the way including Deon Taylor’s “Fatale” and the Alec Baldwin-led “Stupid Happy”. He also appeared earlier this year in Netflix’s “Extinction”.
The two seasons of “Luke Cage” are now streaming on Netflix.

Luke Cage represented something more than just entertainment. @MarvelsLukeCage added to our social commentary and made viewers think by challenging the norm and putting out a character that reflected the everyday hero, one with flaws, strengths and everything in between. I am forever grateful to Marvel and Netflix for letting me portray such a prolific character, and thank the amazing fans. As one door closes, another has opened, with the birth of my 2nd daughter. Born this week. A lot of great memories. Time to make more. Always forward, forward always
