Clifton Collins Jr. will star in indie feature “The Perfect Game” for Prelude Pictures reports Variety.
Collins plays former baseball player Cesar Faz, who returns home to Mexico, defeated by the racism of the Major Leagues. He coaches a local youth league team, leading them all the way to the 1957 Little League World Series.
Cheech Marin, Emilie de Ravin, Lou Gossett Jr., Bruce McGill and Patricia Manterola also star. William Dear (“Angels in the Outfield”) is directing from a script by W. William Winokur.
Filming in Mexico is already complete, with more filming in Los Angeles getting underway next Friday.
