Toni Collette, Danny Huston, Michael Stuhlbarg and Michael Wincott are all in negotiations to join “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho” at Fox Searchlight reports Variety.
Sacha Gervasi helms the story which follows legendary director Hitchcock and his struggles during the filmmaking of the 1960 horror classic. Hopkins will play the iconic director and Helen Mirren will play his wife Alma.
Collette will play Peggy Robertson, Hitchcock’s longtime and fiercely protective assistant. Huston is in talks to play Whitfield Cook, Alma’s friend and work collaborator.
Stuhlbarg will play Lew Wasserman, Hitchcock’s charismatic agent. Wincott will play Ed Gein, the Wisconsin-based serial killer upon whom “Psycho” is based.
They join the previously cast James D’Arcy, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel who are playing “Psycho” stars Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh and Vera Miles respectively.
John McLaughlin and Tom Thayer co-wrote the script while Ivan Reitman, Joe Medjuck and Tom Pollack will produce.
