He’s caused commotion at fashion shows, an airport, a wrestling match, and a film junket – now British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen and his gay Austrian fashion reporter alter ego Bruno are up to more mischief.
The “Borat” and “Ali G” creator went undercover as Bruno on Sunday when he crashed a rally in support of Proposition 8, a ballot measure that would ban gay marriage in California says The Denver Post.
Cohen marched with demonstrators who support Proposition 8 while being trailed by cameras in a rally across from City Hall.
When photographers and reporters realized who he was and tried to approach the star, members of his film crew tried to shield him, and he was eventually whisked away in a van.
The stunt is part of his new feature “Bruno” opening next May which takes the mickey out of the bigotry and homophobia that remains very rampant today.
