Coens, Wright, Evans On Grit, Ant-Man, Four

The Coen Brothers, Joel and Ethan, told Coming Soon in Canada this week their “True Grit” project is much more an adaptation of the original Charles Portis novel which they both loved rather than a remake of the classic John Wayne movie which “made very little impression” on the pair.

The pair were coy about the Jeff Bridges casting saying only that they are “talking to somebody” and hope to begin filming in the Spring.

Meanwhile Edgar Wright (“Shaun of the Dead,” “Hot Fuzz”) tells CHUD that despite the Disney/Marvel deal he is still attached to the “Ant-Man” project and is still working on a second draft with Joe Cornish.

Once “Scott Pilgrim” gets into full post-production he’ll look into it further. Also his take is “very much live action” so don’t expect Pixar involvement.

Finally “Fantastic Four” star Chris Evans tells Superhero Hype isn’t against the idea of the ‘Four’ reboot saying “I think it’s great. I’m sure it’ll be a great movie… If they can go make a good dark edgy ‘Fantastic Four,’ right on.”

Asked if he would return to play Johnny Storm, he says it would depend on the director – “if ‘Fantastic Four’ got rebooted and Christopher Nolan was going to direct it and said do you want to play Johnny Storm again, I’d be in those blue f*cking tights.”
