“Coco” co-writer Matthew Aldrich has been selected to oversee Netflix’s proposed expansive adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia” novels.
The plan is to adapt the seven novel property as both series and film with Aldrich as the creative architect on all projects, shepherding development and creative on the multiple adaptations.
The books have been adapted numerous times including the big-budget Walden Media film adaptations in the early 2000s. A new set of big screen movies was to be developed, but those plans were dropped when Netflix made a multi-year deal with the C.S. Lewis Company late last year.
