CMT’s plans to revive the recently cancelled Tim Allen-led ABC comedy series “Last Man Standing” have fallen through.
Allen played a conservative sporting-goods executive and father of three daughters, one of whom was married to a liberal.
The series was cancelled by ABC after six seasons and 130 episodes, prompting claims of ABC being anti-conservative. CMT was seen as the last chance of potentially reviving the series, the same way they had ABC’s “Nashville,” but it didn’t happen.
At this point the comedy’s return is said to be “very unlikely”.
