Universal Pictures has tapped “10 Cloverfield Lane” scribes Josh Campbell & Matt Stuecken to pen the film adaptation of Neal Shusterman’s young adult novel “Scythe”.
The story is set in the future where humans have eradicated diseases. This leaves the population to be controlled by people called Scythes who are tasked with killing people at random in the name of population control.
Dylan Clark and Trevor Engelson will produce. Shusterman is separately penning an adaptation of the National Book Award winner “Challenger Deep” for Fox and Chernin.
