The war of “whose trailer got the most views” has just been handily won by Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War”. The appearance of a certain ‘Underoos’ nicknamed webslinger helped push this week’s full trailer launch to nearly 94.7 million views in its first 24 hours.
That’s easily a record for a Marvel film – the previous ‘Civil War’ trailer pulled in 61 million views, and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” scored 34.3 million views. It’s not a record for Disney though, the studios’ third and final trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” still holds the overall record with 112 million views in its first 24 hours
Meanwhile EW has released new photos of tie-in merchandise for the film which puts Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow front and center in its collection – correcting one of the biggest mistakes in toy merchandising in recent history with the sets for “Avengers: Age of Ultron” effectively being shut out.
