Cinemaxs Warrior Gets An Early Concept Trailer

A very early concept trailer has arrived for “Fast Five” filmmaker Justin Lin’s new ten-episode martial arts drama series “Warrior” on Cinemax.

Inspired by an idea from Bruce Lee, and created and executive produced by “Banshee” creator Jonathan Tropper, the series is dubbed a gritty, action-packed crime drama set during the brutal Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the second half of the 19th century.

The story centers around Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who immigrates from China to San Francisco under mysterious circumstances and becomes a hatchet man for one of the most powerful Chinese crime families.

Cinemax picked up the straight-to-series drama with an eye to start production in Cape Town, South Africa in the Fall ahead of a late 2019 airing. Lin, Shannon Lee, and Danielle Woodrow will executive produce.
