Cinemax Scores “Outcast,” Renews “Banshee”

Cinemax have announced that they have renewed their well-regarded drama series “Banshee” for a fourth season. One difference this time, the new season will consist of only eight episodes rather than the usual ten. Returning cast and crew members will be announced at a later date.

The network has also confirmed that they have picked up “Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman’s comic-to-TV adaptation “Outcast” to series. Patrick Fugit heads up the cast which also includes “Life on Mars” actor Philip Glenister as a alcoholic and gambling addicted West Virginia preacher.

The ten episode first season follows Kyle Barnes (Fugit), a man who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a spiritual journey to find answers, but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.

A series premiere date has yet to be determined.
