Cinemax has begun development of “Warrior,” a visceral crime drama TV series inspired by the writings of martial arts legend Bruce Lee.
The story follows a gifted but morally corrupt fighter who is thrown into crisis after a lifelong quest for vengeance is undermined.
“Fast Five” director Justin Lin will executive produce and direct the potential pilot of the show which boasts a script by “Banshee” co-creator Jonathan Tropper.
Lee spent years working on the project before his sudden death in 1973, work that ws never published. His notes were found by his daughter and have become inspiration for the show which the daughter and Lin have been developing together since 2013.
Lin is next committed to helm the upcoming “Star Trek Beyond”.
