“The Dark Knight” and “Inception” director Chris Nolan’s good luck charm, Irish actor Cillian Murphy, will once again work together for Nolan’s upcoming WW2 film “Dunkirk” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Aneurin Barnard, and Harry Styles all star in the film which chronicles the evacuation of Dunkirk during Operation Dynamo, the British military plan that saved the lives of 330,000 Allied soldiers who were surrounded by German forces.
Murphy is expected to play a supporting role along the lines of Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh who are also in the film. Nolan penned the script and will produce the film with Emma Thomas.
The project, which begins production next month, will be shot on a combination of IMAX 65mm and 65mm large-format film photography in many of the real locations of the true events. A July 21st 2017 theatrical release is planned.
