Christian Bale Departs Steve Jobs Biopic

He was initially linked, then left, then two weeks ago circled back around again.

Now though Christian Bale is once again NOT set to play Steve Jobs after all in Danny Boyle’s upcoming biopic of the Apple co-founder at Sony Pictures.

THR reports that after much deliberation, “The Dark Knight” star came to the conclusion he was not right for the part and decided to withdraw.

Boyle is expected to meet with actors and actresses for the movie this week, and it’s uncertain how Bale’s departure will affect casting.

Bale’s departure follows that of Leonardo DiCaprio who was previously linked to the role and then ultimately passed.

Aaron Sorkin is penning the script and Scott Rudin, Guymon Casady and Mark Gordon will produce. Shooting is slated to begin this winter.
