Chris Weitz is in early discussions to direct an untitled drama at MGM about the hunt and capture of Holocaust architect Adolf Eichmann.
Eichmann organized the transport of Jews from countries all over Europe to concentration camps where millions were murdered. After the war, he fled to Austria then Argentina. The Mossad uncovered his whereabouts in 1960, nabbed him and brought him to Israel to face crimes against humanity charges. He was executed in 1962, unrepentant all the way to the grave.
Matthew Orton has penned the project which is said to have a “Munich” and “Argo”-style tone. The studio bought the script in November and is quickly pushing it into production. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones will produce.
