Emmy winner Chris Rock has scored the lead role in the upcoming fourth season of FX’s “Fargo” TV series.
The new season is set in 1950, at the end of two great American migrations — post-war Southern Europeans, and African Americans who left the south in great numbers to escape Jim Crow.
In Kansas City, Missouri, two criminal syndicates have struck an uneasy peace. One Italian, one African American. Together they control an alternate economy – that of exploitation, graft, and drugs. To cement their peace, the heads of both families have traded their eldest sons.
Rock plays the head of the African American family. The catalyst that kicks off the season is his counterpart, the head of the Kansas City Italian mafia, goes into the hospital for routine surgery and dies.
Noah Hawley returns for the new season, along with Joel & Ethan Coen, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron returning as executive producers.
