Chris McQuarrie Takes “One Shot”

“The Usual Suspects” scribe Christopher McQuarrie is set to re-write and potentially direct the thriller “One Shot” for Paramount Pictures says Heat Vision.

The story is based on the ninth book by novelist Lee Child featuring his Jack Reacher character, a military cop turned drifter. In ‘Shot’, a military sniper accused of murder seeks out Reacher for help.

Mutual Film and Cruise/Wagner Prods., who originally opted the book series, are still attached to produce while McQuarrie will rework the script by Josh Olson (“A History of Violence”). The film marks McQuarrie’s second time in director’s chair following his 2000 effort “The Way of the Gun.”
