Chris Evans Leads Apple’s “Jacob” Series

Chris Evans (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) has signed on to both star in and executive produce the limited series “Defending Jacob” which is going straight-to-series at Apple, Paramount Television and Anonymous Content.

The project is based on William Landay’s 2012 best-selling novel about a father whose fourteen-year-old son is accused of murder, and marks only his second TV role following the 2000 miniseries “Opposite Sex”.

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” and “Outlaw King” writer Mark Bomback created, writes and executive produces the series and will serve as showrunner. Morten Tyldum, Rosalie Swedlin and Adam Shulman are executive producing and Tyldum (“Jack Ryan,” “Counterpart”) will direct the series.
