“The Perks of Being a Wallflower” director Stephen Chbosky has signed on to pen and potentially direct the Disney fairy tale “Prince Charming”.
Matt Fogel wrote the initial script for this a revisionist take on the fairy and folk tale trope popularized in Disney’s own fairy tale movies such as “Snow White,” “Sleeping Beauty” and “Cinderella”.
The story takes a look at the iconic prince from the point of view of his brother, who never quite lived up to the family name.
Tripp Vinson, David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing. Chbosky is also behing the upcoming film adaptation of R.J. Palacio’s young adult novel “Wonder”.
