“La La Land” helmer Damien Chazelle is joining the raft of film directors dipping their toes into prestige TV with word that he’s developing the musical series “The Eddy”.
Previously in development at HBO, Chazelle is attached to direct several (if not all) episodes of the series which is set in a club in contemporary multicultural Paris and follows the club’s owner and its house band.
Jack Thorne, who penned the “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” play and the upcoming new BBC adaptation of “His Dark Materials.” will pen the script and the project will soon be shopped to cable and streaming services.
The project likely won’t be done until Chazelle finishes filming his Neil Armstrong biopic “First Man” with Ryan Gosling later this year.
