Chastain Open To Joining The “IT” Sequel

With the “IT” follow-up putting the focus on adult versions of the characters, and with the first films overwhelming box-office success and strong reviews, it comes as little surprise that fans have been fantasy casting the roles in the film.

One of the most obvious is Jessica Chastain as Beverly. Chastain previously worked with director Andres Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti on “Mama” and seems a perfect fit for the part. During a recent interview with Screen Rant whilst out promoting “Molly’s Game,” Chastain was asked about the possibility of her taking on the role. She says:

“[Well, I love Andy and Barbara. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so… we’ll see. Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.”

No actors have yet been cast as the grown-up version of the Losers Club. “IT: Chapter 2” is aiming to begin production next year for a September 2019 release.
