Charlize Theron is circling a $15 million film adaptation of the Gillian Flynn novel “Dark Places”.
The story revolves around a woman who, at the age of 7, survived the massacre of her family and testified against her brother as the murderer.
Twenty-five years later, a group obsessed with solving notorious crimes confronts her with questions about it.
Amy Adams was previously linked with the project in May last year, but is no longer attached.
Gilles Paquet-Brenner (“Sarah’s Key”) will direct from his own script while Stephane Marsil and Peter Safran are producing.
Should Theron hop onboard, she would also likely produce the film which is currently aiming to begin filming in March.
