Channing Tatum is in talks to both star in and co-direct the film adaptation of Jo Nesbo’s upcoming crime novel “The Son” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
The story focuses on an incarcerated young man who took the rap for crimes others committed. His father, a corrupt cop, commits suicide.
When the son learns his father was actually an honest man who was murdered, he escapes to avenge the killing and rectify the crimes to which he confessed.
Tatum’s longtime collaborator Reid Carolin would co-direct the film which Kevin McCormick is producing. A writer is currently being sought to adapt the script.
