Action star Jackie Chan and “The Grey” director Joe Carnahan are set to team up for the long in-development action thriller “Five Against A Bullet” which has yet to be setup at a studio after losing its old home at Columbia Pictures and Di Bonaventura Pictures.
The story follows a man’s run for mayor in Mexico after the death of his father at the hands of a drug cartel. We also follow the team of elite bodyguards who are tasked with protecting him, Chan likely playing the head of that group.
Suretone Pictures is producing the project which is seen as a potential franchise launcher with subsequent movies following the team of bodyguards throughout their various assignments.
Carnahan will direct and will also do rewrites on the script from the original scribe Alex Litvak (“The Three Musketeers”). Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, De Clercq, David Mimran and Jordan Schur will produce.
