Chalamet To Play Henry V In “The King”

Oscar nominee Timothee Chalamet (“Call Me By Your Name,” “Lady Bird”) will star as a young Henry the Fifth in “Animal Kingdom” and “The Rover” director David Michod’s new feature “The King” at Plan B and Netflix.

After his brother is killed in battle before his coronation, a young king (Chalamet) is coronated in the late 1300s. The reluctant ruler wears the crown at a time when England was near a war with France, and the empire is teetering – but he rises to the occasion admirably.

Joel Edgerton and Michod wrote the script and both will produce alongside Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Liz Watts and Jeremy Kleiner. Production will start in June.
