Beloved actress CCH Pounder (“Sons of Anarchy,” “NCIS: New Orleans”) is set to reprise her role of Moat in James Cameron’s four upcoming “Avatar” sequels.
In the films Moat is the Omatikaya Clan tsahik (spiritual leader) of the Nav’i. She joins returning cast members such as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver along with newcomers to the franchise Cliff Curtis and Oona Chaplin.
Pre-production on the four films is well underway in New Zealand ahead of filming beginning on September 25th this year.
The second and third films will shoot simultaneously first, then the fourth and fifth films will be shot together.
Cameron, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman, and Shane Salerno penned the scripts while Cameron and Jon Landau will produce.
The sequels open December 18th 2020, December 17th 2021, December 20th 2024, and December 19th 2025.
