With CBS announcing its Fall TV schedule this morning, it revealed that the fate of the last of the ‘on the bubble’ shows – “Limitless” – had yet to be determined.
Unlike straight up cancelled “Rush Hour” or moved to The CW “Supergirl,” this film to TV series adaptation is still being shopped around by producers CBS Television Studios and discussions are ongoing with other potential buyers right now.
As a result, CBS president Glenn Geller is declining to say the series has officially been canceled, though if a buyer doesn’t pick up the series it likely will be.
Geller has also had to defend his network’s new line-up of shows. With eight new series on the way, there’s certainly a lack of diversity with only one female-driven and only one with a black co-lead – both shows are also being held to mid-season.
The other six, all launching this Fall, center on white men – Joel McHale, Matt LeBlanc, Michael Weatherly, Kevin James, Lucas Till and Dermot Mulroney.
